Seabery — legally Seabery Soluciones S.L. — is a Spanish technology company headquartered in Huelva, specializing in the development of technical training simulators based on augmented reality and virtual reality, applied mainly to welding education and certification, industrial painting, and other professional skills. It was founded in 2009 by Basilio Marquínez.[1][2]
Its developments include Soldamatic, later renamed Seabery Welding Simulator, a simulation system used in welding training. The company has also developed solutions for other areas of technical training and has commercial activity in several international markets.
History
2009-2010: Origins
Seabery was founded in 2009 in Huelva by Basilio Marquínez, with the aim of developing digital solutions for welding training.[3] In 2010, the company developed Soldamatic.[4][5]
2011-2013: Technology development and early sales
After an initial phase focused on virtual reality, in 2011 the company shifted the development of Soldamatic towards augmented reality, incorporating physical objects into simulation exercises. The first sale of Soldamatic was made to a training centre in Zafra, Badajoz, and its first international export was to South Africa.[2][3][6]
2014-2021: Internationalization and partnerships
From 2014 onwards, Seabery began expanding internationally, reaching 35 countries within two years.[4][7]
2022-present: Investment and diversification
In August 2022, the Andromeda fund, backed by Iberdrola, ICO and Seaya, and SOPEF acquired a stake in the company. The transaction was associated with Seabery’s expansion in the Asia-Pacific region and the development of new business lines.[5]
Technology and training methodology
Seabery develops simulators that combine digital environments with physical tools used in technical training processes.[5] Its technology is used primarily for welding simulation and other industrial training systems.
The company's training solutions are based on a simulation technology called Hyperreal-SIM, designed to replicate certain industrial processes.[8][9] Its training methodology, known as Augmented Training, is based on digital simulation, practical exercises and monitoring tools for instructors.[5][10]

International presence
Seabery markets its technology internationally. Its simulation systems are used in more than 80 countries.[1][5]
In addition to its headquarters in Huelva, the company has international teams or offices in other cities in Spain, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, India, Japan and China.[1]
The United States and Germany are among the company’s main international markets.[6]
In the United States, Seabery has a collaboration agreement with the American Welding Society for the development of interactive curricula.[11] In Germany, where its methodology is used by DVS Media, its welding simulators are used in training programs linked to industrial manufacturers such as Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Siemens, Audi and BMW.[1][5]
