Sebastian Revan (born 14 July 2003) is an English footballer who plays as a left back for Grimsby Town, on loan from Premier League team Aston Villa.
Having made his debut in Villa's EFL Trophy campaign in 2020–21, he was also part of the winning FA Youth Cup team of the same season, he has also been called up to represent the England national under-18 football team but so far remains uncapped.
Early life[edit]
He joined the Aston Villa youth academy at the age of 8.[3] His brother, Dominic also plays for Aston Villa[4]
Club career[edit]
Revan made his Aston Villa debut in the EFL Trophy on 8 September 2020 in what turned out to be a heavy 8–1 defeat at the Stadium of Light against Sunderland. Revan played the full 90 minutes alongside his brother Dominic in defence.[5]
He also played in Villa's EFL defeats against Fleetwood Town and Carlisle United.[6][7]
After being a regular starter in Mark Delaney's Under 23 team he was awarded a full professional contract on 3 March 2021.[8]
On 24 May 2021, Revan played the full 90 minutes in Villa's FA Youth Cup final win over Liverpool, a deflected shot cannoned off Revan and into the back of the net to give Liverpool a late goal but Villa held out to win the game 2–1.[9]
On 28 July 2021, Revan signed for Grimsby Town on a season-long loan, Mariners boss Paul Hurst said upon signing him "He's a player that I watched towards the end of last season after I was made aware of him, he was part of the FA Youth Cup-winning team, I watched the semi-final and final and he certainly impressed in those games and so did a lot of his teammates"[10][11] Revan made his debut for Grimsby in a 0–0 draw against Stockport County.[12]
International career[edit]
In October 2020, Revan was called up to the England national under-18 football team by Kevin Betsy.[13]
