Sebastien Danloy ([sebastjɛ̃]; born 25th May 1970), is the Global Head of Asset Owners and Managers of HSBC Securities Services.[1]
Life
Sebastien Danloy was born in Namur, Belgium and raised in a Belgian family. His father was an Industrial Engineer and his mother a Banker. He attended High School at the Athénéé Léon Lepage in Brussels. Sebastien completed both his undergraduate and graduate studies as a Commercial Engineer at the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management.
Sebastien married his wife Carine in 1994, whom he met one morning on the bus. He has three children named Valentine, Guillaume and Augustin.
Sebastien is fluent in three languages: French, English and Dutch.
Career
Sebastien started his career as an IT support at the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. He then took a position at State Street Corporation, first in Operations then on the Commercial side.
In 2001, he moved to London with his wife and two children to start a new role at BNP Paribas Securities Services as Head of Fund Administration Ireland, Global Sales Manager UK and Head of Business Development for the Middle East.
His career took a new turn when he left for Société Générale Securities Services in 2005. After three years in Paris, he was promoted to Global Head of Sales and Relationship Management and Member of the International Management Committee in 2008.
2011 was the year that changed everything for this Solvay Business School educated banker. After nearly 15 years abroad, Sebastien returned to the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg to serve as the CEO of RBC Investor & Treasury Services Bank S.A. and Managing Director, Continental Europe & Offshore, RBC Investor & Treasury Services.[2] During his time at RBC, Sebastien served as a member of the Board for RBC Investors & Treasury Services Bank S.A. and for the Alfi.
HSBC
After nearly a decade heading the Canadian Bank's Luxembourg Office, Sebastien left to HSBC. In February 2019, he was appointed Global Head of Asset Owners and Managers. Sebastien is also Member of the Executive Committee of HSBC Securities Services.[3]
