The band makes use of traditional and acoustic instruments such as flutes, acoustic guitars, traditional drums, the didgeridoo, jaw harp, bodhrán and bouzouki as well as vocals. Vocal are sung in Dutch and English, and for the single Het Vergeten Volk (2020), in Irish Gaelic too.[3]

SeeD was founded in 2011 by brothers Koen van Egmond and Lars van Egmond.[2][3] In 2013 Sara Weeda of Anúna and Robin Dekker were welcomed into the band and they performed their first major show for Balfolk Netherlands.[4] They have performed regularly throughout the Netherlands, including Castlefest in 2015 and 2016, then headlining in 2017 and 2018.
