Segun Oke is a Nigerian banker, social entrepreneur, chartered accountant, and innovation strategist. He is the founder and CEO of Ogadonate, a social enterprise pioneering the concept of a \"kindness currency.\" He also serves as the president and founding trustee of the Bridgewaters Foundation, and co-founder of several impact-driven platforms including Soupe.ng, Dignovate Africa, and Cobuild.ng. He is the author of the forthcoming memoir Audacity of Heritage (ISBN: 978-978-774-619-6), which reflects on ethics, legacy, and leadership in African society.
Early life and education
Oke holds a Master of Social Entrepreneurship from Hult International Business School in San Francisco, an MBA from the University of Ado Ekiti, and pursued an Executive MBA from the TRIUM Global Program (LSE, NYU Stern, HEC Paris). He has completed executive certifications at MIT Sloan and is a certified Corporate Ethics & Compliance Practitioner (U.S.). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN), a Fellow of the Institute of Auctioneers Nigeria, an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Technology-UK, a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and a Prince2 Practitioner.
Career
Banking and finance
Oke began his career in Nigeria's financial services sector and held senior roles across treasury, operations, and internal control. He served as:
- Chief Financial Officer, Union Homes Savings & Loans Plc (2018–2021)[1]
- Senior roles at ASO Savings & Loans Plc, Chevron Downstream Nigeria Plc, and Fidelity Bank
- NYSC service at the Central Bank of Nigeria (Banking Supervision Unit)
Innovation and enterprise
Ogadonate
Ogadonate is a peer-to-peer kindness banking platform where individuals or organizations can deposit goods, services, and funds and earn digital \"kindness coins\" redeemable for community development or acts of service.[2]
Bridgewaters Foundation
Bridgewaters Foundation promotes youth development, ethical leadership, and digital innovation. Under Oke’s leadership:
- It launched a ₦10 million Smart Arena Innovation Prize in Oye Ekiti[3]
- It introduced the Ekiti Marathon App (GoPadi)[4]
- It pledged ₦300 million to develop five robotics and AI labs to train 20,000 youths[5]
Dignovate Africa
Dignovate Africa is a fellowship and training program targeting rural and semi-urban youth, equipping them with skills in blockchain, AI, robotics, and mobile tech.[6][7]
