Seiko 5

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The Seiko 5 watch is an automatic watch produced by Seiko corporation. It is named the "5" because of its five attributes: “an automatic movement, a day-date display at the 3 o’clock position, water resistance, a recessed crown at the four o’clock position, and a case and bracelet built for durability.”[1]

While the Seiko 5 Sport watch has been available from Seiko since 1963, the line was redone in 2019 and was executed in 27 formats across 5 different styles ("Sports", "Suits", "Specialist", "Street", and "Sense"). All five, however, retained several features in common: a day-date display, unidirectional rotating bezels, arrow-shaped minute hands and unique hour markers, the Seiko automatic cal. 4R36 movement with optional manual winding and a 41-hour power reserve, a "Hardlex" crystal face, and a 13.4mm thick 42.5mm wide stainless steel case back with window and 100m of water resistance.[2]
