Senja videregående skole, skolested Finnfjordbotn, formerly Finnfjordbotn vidaregåande skole is located in Finnfjordbotn in the outskirts of the town of Finnsnes in Senja in Troms og Finnmark.[1]
The school was founded in 1946 as a landsgymnas with students from Nordland, Troms and Finnmark. In the 1970s, the school at Finnfjordbotn became a forsøksgymnas, and since become a developmentally active upper secondary school with strong academic traditions.
The school has a broad offer of studies, and offers the "International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme" as an alternative for the last two years. It is a global programme, with lessons in English and greater academic specialisation than in other courses, and takes in students from across Nord-Norge and abroad. The school also has a boarding school with space for 80 students.
In the 2011/2012 academic year, the school was administratively joined to the secondary school at Gibostad, and the name of the school changed to Senja videregående skole.
