Seph Rodney is Jamaican-American art critic and curator. Rodney primarily . He was a senior critic and opinions editor at Hyperallergic until 2022.
Early life and education
Seph Rodney was born in Jamaica, and grew up in the Bronx.
Rodney attended Long Island University, graduating in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in English. He went on to the University of California, Irvine, receiving an MFA in studio art in 2001. In 2015 he completed a PhD in museum studies at Birkbeck College, University of London.
Career
Rodney joined the staff of Hyperallergic in 2016. Rodney left Hyperallergic in 2022 to freelance full-time.
Awards
Rodney was awarded the Rabkin Prize in 2020 from the Rabkin Foundation, a $50,000 unrestricted grant for arts writers.[1]
In 2022 Rodney was selected for the Andy Warhol Foundation's Arts Writers Grant.
