John D Lincoln (born 31 July 1979) is an American chemist, materials engineer, entrepreneur and the CEO of Axiom Materials, an aerospace materials company.[1][2][3][4]
Career[edit]
Lincoln was educated at the University of California, Berkeley graduating with B.S. in Chemistry in 2000. He later attended the University of California, Irvine where he earned the M.S. in Engineering (2004) and a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering with a focus on environmentally benign & sustainable advanced materials (2007).[5][6][7]
Lincoln started his professional career as a consulting chemist working on the development of aircraft interiors composites and adhesives. He worked briefly at the NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory in 2005, and later as Vice President of Technology at Umeco PLC in Costa Mesa, CA.[8][9]
In 2009, Lincoln founded Axiom Materials, Inc, which was eventually acquired by the US division of Kordsa for 181 MM USD in 2019.[10][11][12]
Lincoln has contributed a diverse set of scientific publications to the field of advanced composite technologies and sustainable engineering.[1][13][3]
In 2020, Lincoln pledged a $1 million gift to the University of California to establish the World Institute for Sustainable Development of Materials.[14]
