Serendipity Point Films (simply known as Serendipity, stylized in Italic), is a Canadian film and television production and distribution company based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

History

The company was founded in 1998 by Hungarian-born Canadian producer Robert Lantos after closing the original Alliance Films in 1998. It is also headed by Ari Lantos.^[1] Unlike Alliance Atlantis, its products include independent and drama films and television.

Notable works

Their first noted production in films was Existenz, which was distributed by Alliance Atlantis under its distribution brand in 1999. In 2000, they co-produced Stardom with Alliance Films and Cinémaginaire which was directed by Denys Arcand and starred Jessica Paré and Dan Aykroyd.

In 2002, Lantos confirmed that Ararat would be in the production at Serendipity too as the remainder.

In 2010, it was reported that Serendipity's hit Barney's Version, based on the 1997 novel of the same name, was premiered by Alliance Films which distributed the film with Serendipity that also produced the film, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada at the NAC right around December.^[2]

In 2012, Serendipity promoted Mark Musselman, not to be confused with Mary Musselman (Mary Whitmer).^[3]

In 2024, with a help from Greek film production company Filmiki Productions, has Serendipity with co-production underway to hit in Athens, Greece, called Maya & Samar. ^[4] The film was directed by Anita Doron with many shots included filmed there.
