Serenity Forge

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Serenity Forge is an independent game studio located in Boulder, Colorado founded in 2012.[1][2] They are best known for creating games that focus on value and connecting with people beyond simple entertainment.[3][4] For instance, The Washington Post described Where the Water Tastes Like Wine, their narrative game about American stories of the Great Depression co-developed with Dim Bulb Games, as “a giant step forward in video game storytelling”.[5] They also published the 1920s noir game A Case of Distrust with developer Ben Wander, which stars a female detective and was placed on Feminist Frequency’s list of recommended media.[6] Holly Green of Paste also praised the game for its feminist themes.[7] In 2016, the studio hosted the Serenity Forge Game Jam[8] where over 100 developers around the world made 32 games that focused on education, health, and having a social impact.[9] Founder Zhenghua Yang says this emphasis on human connection[10] is inspired by his struggle with the rare blood disorder idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura as a college student.[11]
