Serhat Koç (born 5 October 1980) is a Turkish attorney, lecturer and activist.[1] He is the founder of Pirate Party Movement of Turkey.[2]
Early life and education[edit]
Serhat Koç was born in Istanbul, Turkey, on 5 October 1980 just several weeks after the coup. He has studied Law in Ankara University, Information and Technology Law in Istanbul Bilgi University and took a CopyrightX course in Harvard Law School.[3]
Political life[edit]
Pirate Party Turkey[edit]
Koç discovered Pirate Party back in 2009 when it was newly found by Serdar Kuzuoğlu. He later refound the party as a movement when it got inactive and ultimately shut down in 2010. He defined a syncretic path for the party, not putting it neither on right nor left.[4] He held a speaksperson position in the organization from 2012 to 2015, until when the movement lost its relevance due to lack of interest and corruption.
