Seyed Hossein Mirjaliliis an Iranian economist. He is currently Professor of Economics at the Faculty of Economics of the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies, Tehran, Iran. He was formerly Senior Advisor to the executive director at the World Bank Group (2009-2015) and also visiting lecturer to teach Topics on Money and Banking for graduate students at the University of Birmingham in UK (2006,2007,2008). He was formerly served as an advisor to the Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Governor of the Central Bank and CEO of Securities Exchange Organization in Iran. He also served as Director for International cooperation, vice chancellor for academic affairs and chairman of the Faculty of Economics at the Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies -which is the largest research University in Humanities- in Iran. He also worked for the Ministry of commerce in Iran mostly at the Plenipotentiary trade representative for accession to the WTO(2005-1999) and worked for the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Finance as an economist (1998-1993). As a scholar, he has published widely (over 200 publications in Persian, Arabic and English) mainly in the areas of economic development, monetary economics, macroeconomics, international trade, Islamic Finance, and Schools of Economic thought. At the center of his research is advising economic policy to resolve economic issues. His works includes “Schools of Economic thought” (2015),” An appraisal of Interest-free banking in Iran” (1995),” International Trade Theory and Policy and Foreign Trade of Iran"(2009),” "World Trade Organization: Structure, Rules and Agreements"(2006),” The Islamic Development Bank Group"(2005),”Essays on the New Banking Law in Iran"(2010),” Resilient Economy” (2018),” Inclusive Growth in Iran’s Provinces” (2019), and "Financial Cycle and Macroprudential Policy” (2021). He is currently an editorial board for” Journal of Iranian Economic Issues”, "Quarterly Journal of New Economy and Trade”, "Journal of Economic Modeling Research”, and” Quarterly Journal of Securities Exchange”.
