Shadow Mountains is an English alternative rock band from Liverpool, England, formed in 2020. Shadow Mountains is the new project of guitarist Lee Glynn, previously of Sound of Guns.
Shadow Mountains features Lee Glynn on guitar and lead vocals, Jake Marray on bass guitar and James Lorenzo (Atlas: Empire[1]) on drums.
History
After taking a hiatus from music[2] and building a career as an SEO writer[3], Lee Glynn formed Shadow Mountains in 2019 with drummer James Lorenzo.
Focusing on a heavier guitar style[4] than his previous bands, more akin to the likes of Thrice, Brand New and Queens Of The Stone Age, while maintaining the classic stadium rock feel and mix of distortion with delay-infused sonics that made Sound Of Guns so distinctive[5]. Lee then enlisted guitarist Nathan Crowley (previously in Sound Of Guns) in Liverpool, UK to play guitar. After meeting Jake Marray, a trained musician and producer from Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, the band had a bass player and producer.
The song 'Foxholes' was the first to be recorded, and showcased at their first and only gig on February 16, 2020, shortly before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
After taking a break, the band released the single 'Changing Tides' in 2022, which was featured in This Feeling's track of the day showcase[4]
As of 2023, the band are currently writing for their debut EP.
