Anushae Gill (Urdu: انوشا گل) known professionally as Shae Gill, is a Pakistani singer born and raised in Lahore. She recently gained a lot of attention after her song 'Pasoori', which has become a popular song in Pakistan and India,[1] It was part of Coke Studio (Pakistan) Season 14, and featured Ali Sethi.[2][3]

Early life and education[edit]

She was born and raised in Lahore and She spent her childhood in the city of Karachi. Gill was a student at Forman Christian College. It was there that one of her friends motivated her to start an Instagram page to share videos of herself singing in May 2019.[5] She first gained recognition for her performance of Faiz Ahmed Faiz's Aaj Bazaar Mai, which she recorded for Womanistan, a local feminist publication.[6][7]
