The Shah Noorani truck crash was an incident in the Hub District of Pakistan's Balochistan province, where 18 people were killed and more than 35 injured when a truck carrying pilgrims to the shrine of Shah Noorani fell into a ditch.[1]
The crash[edit]
This crash took place on Wednesday, 10 April 2024 in the Hub District of Balochistan. The truck was reportedly speeding and lost control while negotiating a curve. As a result, he falls into a ditch in a mountain town as he approaches the shrine. As a result of the accident, 18 people died and more than 35 were injured.[2][3] The driver of the truck reportedly jumped out of the vehicle for safety.[2]
The deceased were pilgrims from village Qasim Jokhio who were on pilgrimage to Dargah Shah Noorani in Balochistan on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr. The dead bodies of the victims were brought back to their villages under the supervision of former MPA Jam Awais Bijar Khan Jokhio.[4]
Aftermath[edit]
After the crash, the injured were taken to a trauma center in Karachi for treatment.[4]
