Shaheen is a 1980 Pakistani historical television series based on the novel of same name by Naseem Hijazi. The serial stars Ismael Shah in the title role of Shaheen alongwith Tahira Wasti, Shakeel, Saleem Nasir and Mazhar Ali in prominent roles. Set in the 15th century and in Granada (present Spain), the serial tells about the conditions of the Muslims of there at that time when they were about to be expelled from Spain in 1492. The serial aired on PTV in 1980.[1][2]
Plot[edit]
The drama is set in the era of Muslim Spain when the empire was on its last breath, and the Muslims were on the verge of expulsion from Spain in 1492. It dramatizes the situation and struggle of Muslims in Granada to save the Spanish empire for one last time.[2]
