Heer is a 2016 Pakistani romantic drama serial produced by Abdullah Kadwani and Asad Qureshi under their banner 7th Sky Entertainment. The serial stars Madiha Imam, Yasir Ali Khan, Asad Siddiqui and Seemi Pasha.[1][2][3][4]
Synopsis
Heer (Madiha Imam) comes from a small village, with a progressive and independent mindset. To improve the lives of women and girls in her village, Heer establishes a handicraft centre, encouraging other women to become independent and self-sufficient. However, this leads to some men in the village becoming resistant to women's empowerment, organizing protests against Heer. Gaity Ara (Seemi Pasha), an NGO worker, supports Heer and takes her to the city. Heartbroken by the opposition in her village, Heer leaves behind her love, Ibrahim (Asad Siddiqui). Sacrificing her love, Heer finds comfort and solace in Gaity Ara's home. Gaity Ara's son, Aabis (Yasir Ali Khan), falls in love with Heer and supports her efforts. Heer continues her work for women's rights, but city life presents its own challenges.
Will Heer succeed in her mission, or will she be forced to conform to patriarchal norms?
