Shahram Changezi is a Pakistani snooker and pool player who represents Pakistan in different international tournaments. He has won three international medals and is the only Pakistani player who is actively participating in both Snooker and pool events. His recent participation in US Open 9 Ball Pool Event held in USA brought him among top Pool players of the World.

Early Life

Shahram Changezi was born and raised in Islamabad Pakistan. He is the youngest among his siblings. Since childhood, he was very interested in sports and has been representing his school and college in badminton, cricket, and football. In 1996, at the age of 13, Shahram was first introduced to snooker and pool in Karachi Pakistan at a club owned by his cousin. Since then, he continued playing snooker and pool at local clubs. He had a restriction from his family that if he wished to continue sports, he would have to maintain good grades in education as well. Shahram is the only cueist in Pakistan who continued both sports along with education and has an Ms in Management Sciences from Quaid-i-Azam University as a regular student on merit.[1]

In 2007, Shahram came into the spotlight when he defeated Muhammad Yousaf (snooker player) who is IBSF World Snooker Champion 1994, in the final of National Snooker Championship held in Islamabad in 2007. Following year, he again won National Ranking Snooker Title defeating renowned Muhammad Yousaf (snooker player) and Saleh Muhammad in quarter final and semi final respectively. Shahram won his first international medal in Asian Games 2010 where he won the bronze medal in snooker team event [2]. His prominent achievement in the event was defeating Marco Fu HongKong in second round. After returning from China, he went to UK to participate in Q School [3] and PTC Events [4] held in Sheffield during 2011. In 2015, Shahram won two bronze medals in ACBS Asian and IBSF World team snooker events followed by participation in World Snooker Championship Held in Egypt 2015[5] Shahram then participated in US Open 9 Ball Pool event and became the first and only Pakistani to be featured in the signature 9 Ball Pool Event held in USA.[6]. After this event, Shahram was Fargo rated 694 which is considered to be a high level rating for pool players. [7] In May 2022, Shahram participated in UK Open 9 Ball Pool Championship held in CopperBox Arena London. [8]
