Most arrangements are by Roma Kanyan, a perfectly known artist in his field. This collection has 8 songs including a song; “Niaz”, which is a redo of the original song by a well known Persian singer, Fereydoon Foroughi. Shahryar started working with young artists who lived in Iran in this album, using the talent of lyricists and songwriters far from the heart of Persian pop music in the last 32 years in Los Angeles but lived where most of his fans were. Along with that, his second album, has the touch of well-known artists such as; Hassan Shamaizadeh, Jaklin, Shahyar Ghanbari and Iraj Janatie Ataie. After two years of hard work the album was released on September 30, 2013 by Montek Records. Like his previous album all the tracks are recorded using live instruments.

Shahryar gathered a group of musicians from many countries around the world such as Jordan, Turkey, India, Morocco, United States, Peru, Australia and Iran as he believes the language of music is universal. Some of the international instruments used in this album are baglama, bass, bongo drum, clarinet, didgeridoo, drum, electric guitar, ethnic percussion, Latin percussion, piano, Spanish guitar and Persian instruments like daf, kamancheh, oud, santur, setar, tonbak and ney.

“Dolate Eshgh” is a completely different project in Shahryar's musical résumé. All the lyrics are from ancient Persian poets combined with modern melodies. Shahryar describes the album as his gratitude to the Persian literature and mysticism of Iran. Since most of the lyrics in this album are by the great Persian poet Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī simply known as Rumi, the album was released on September 30 which is believed to be Rumi’s birthday.[7]

Sodaye To”,”Morghe Baghe Malakout”, “Deedar”, “Akhareen Ghazal”, “Khaneh”, “Asheghan” and “Moosa va Shaban” are Rumi’s. “Vesal” is by Bahāʾ al-dīn al-ʿĀmilī also known as Shaykh‐i Bahāi.”Zendeye Javidan” is by Nur ad-Dīn Abd ar-Rahmān Jāmī commonly known as Jami. 2013 to 2017[edit]

After releasing his sixth album, Shahryar focused on composing new tracks using Rumi’s poems. Rumi’s literature and life story had great influence on his music. His passion for Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Rūmī has led to the idea of bringing Rumi’s life story on stage. He started touring the world in 2016 with a new concert series called “The Mystical Romance Concert Series, The Tale of Rumi”, featuring a twenty-piece orchestra.[9] "Mash’ale Taban", "Aghebat", "Shekanjeh", "Khajeh Salamaleyk", "Faghat Nafas", "Balaye Jan" and "Iman" are among the songs performed in these concert series. All these tracks are composed by Shahryar.[10][11][12] Shahryar had numerous interviews with international television stations, introducing his music and “The Tale of Rumi Concert Series”. "Local 12, WKRC Cincinnati" and "London Live" are among these television stations.[13][14]

While working on ancient Persian literature, he began composing new songs on contemporary Persian poems and lyrics. "Parvaz ba Khorshid"[15] and "Rishe Dar Khak"[16] by Fereydoon Moshiri, "Pasokh"[17] by Forough Farrokhzad and "Che Kasi Midanad"[18] by Sohrab Sepehri are the songs which have been released through 2014 to 2016.

Singles[edit]

In 2006, Nooshafarin, the famous female Persian singer released a song featuring Shahryar called “Asheghaneh”.[19]

In 2008, Shahryar composed a song called “Chelcheleha”. This song is dedicated to Dr. Ghogha Khalatbari, the poet, scholar, and humanist. The poem is by Dr.Khalatbari. The arrangement is by Roma Kanyan. “Chelcheleha” is a song about Iran.”.[20]

In 2009, after the controversial presidential election in Iran, Shahryar showed his support for Iran and Iranians with his music. A week after the election, he composed a very touching single track called “Bas konid(Ba tamame ashk hayam), with words of Fereydoon Moshiri. The arrangement is by Roma Kanyan. His pure emotions for his country, Iran, made the song a memorable piece of work.[21] A couple of months later, Shahryar and Shakila released a duet called “Ariaee-Nejad”, which is not just a song to support Iran's Green Movement but also an everlasting song for Iran. The poem is by the great Persian poet Ferdowsi, the composition is by Shahryar and the arrangement is by Alireza Tavangar.[22]

To support his country and people once again, Shahryar composed numerous single tracks called "Vatan", "Eghteshash", "Sharm Bar Ma" and "Ta Abad Fars" in 2011 and 2012.[23][24][25][26]

Shahryar, along many other Persian artists, has performed in a project done by TAPESH TV called "Norooz Medley"[27] and another one by PEN TV, called "Iran Forever".[28]

In 2016, Shahryar released a single track called "Baran ke Shodi", in support of animal rights. The lyric is written by Mahdi Mokhtarzadeh, and the melody is composed by Pedram Shanehsaz.[29]

Music videos[edit]

Shahryar's music videos are so noticeable because of their variety, the dignity which is needed for a professional artist and last but not least the respect he has for his audience. One of his well-known music videos "Roofoozeh" with performance of Kolah Ghermezi is kind of a short movie. Shahryar did the scenario, voice, and even puppetry all by himself. He got the permission to use the puppets of "Kolah Ghermezi and his friends" in his music video.[30]

Charity work[edit]

Shahryar is an animal rights activist.[31] Moreover, "The children of Iran" is a foundation that Shahryar has always been supporting.[32] He is also a supporter of "PACI" (Persian American Cancer Institute).[33][34]
