Shapiro (stylized as SHAPIRO), is a Canadian singer and songwriter.

Early life

Shapiro was born and raised in Toronto, Canada.[1] He is the son of Jamaican immigrants who emigrated to Canada in the late 1970s.

Career

In Summer 2016, Shapiro released “Straight” produced by Jordon Manswell off of Cruise Control, which followed in February 2017. After signing to Empire Distribution in 2017, he released SV2 - EP, a follow-up to his 2015 SoundCloud release SV1 - EP. 2018 brought the singles “Find Out” & “Bleu Chanel”. In 2020, Shapiro collaborated with Jay Reeves on “South Central”. In late 2020, Shapiro wrote on the single “You Need Me” by Black Coffee (DJ).[2][3] 2021 brought the release of LUDUS+ EP and “Never Change”.[4] The single off of CLOUDS EP.[5] In 2021, “You Need Me” was on Black Coffee (DJ)’s Grammy-nominated album, winning a Grammy at the 64th Grammy Awards in 2022.[citation needed]
