Sharaf Mahama (born 21 September 1996) is a Ghanaian footballer, philanthropist, and licensed FIFA football agent. He is the son of former President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, and Lordina Mahama. Sharaf is known for his contributions to youth empowerment and sports development through his organization, Legacy Rise Sports.[1]
Career
Sharaf Mahama began his football career with appearances in testimonial and friendly matches, including a 2015 match for former Ghana captain Stephen Appiah.[1] He later signed a professional contract with Belgian club KV Mechelen and trained with WAFA SC in Ghana.
In May 2024, Mahama passed the FIFA Agent Examinations and officially became a licensed FIFA football agent.[2][3][4][5]
Philanthropy
Mahama is the founder and CEO of Legacy Rise Sports, an initiative focused on empowering young athletes through mentorship, training, and international exposure.[6] He has organized talent tournaments and development programs across Ghana and has spoken at global forums such as the Harvard SEI Summit and the Johns Hopkins Africa Business Conference.[7][8]
Public visibility
Though not formally involved in politics, Mahama has gained popularity among youth in the National Democratic Congress. He has made appearances at campaign events and participated in community outreach programs, including door-to-door campaigns.[9][10]
Personal life
Mahama maintains a private lifestyle and is not currently married. He continues to focus on his work in youth development and professional football management.
