Shaylo Sama (born 22 April 1995), known professionally as Shay Legacy, is an American record producer and mix engineer from Paterson, New Jersey.[1] He is best known for his breakout single “I Don’t Want To Be Sad Ever Again” released on March 16, 2016.[2] He also founded Shaylo Records,[3][4][5] a label which has released several of his singles including; “Because I Love You”[6] and “Eleven.”[7]
Early life[edit]
Shaylo Sama, or Shay,[8][9] was born on April 22, 1995 in Paterson, New Jersey.[10] He began taking interest in music in 2011 as a songwriter in middle school. He began to produce orchestra music and instrumentals due to being bullied by his classmates, and due to the success of his debut single "I Don't Want To Be Sad Ever Again" on the audio distribution platform SoundCloud, Shaylo eventually gave up on songwriting to become a music producer.

2016 (early): Friends and Shaylo Records[edit]
Shay Legacy began making music in 2011 and began to gain attention in 2016. His debut Single, I Don't Want To Be Sad Ever Again was released on 16 March 2016,[11] catching the attention of many YouTube promoters, such as Sector Music, Soundsky, SadVibe 美しい, DeadMusicFC, and Keep It Underground.
He became close friends with singers; Airi, Sagi, and nike, alongside with music producers; 11t, Yasuha., and Chewie Melodies. The six became a team and closely worked with Shay, as they all continued to put out new content and improve within the year. They later formed a independent label called Shaylo Records, focusing on bringing artist from all over the world regardless of genres.
On 25 July 2016, close friend and mentor, 11t, had passed away (due to unknown reason).[12] This affected Shay in many ways, mentally and physically. He announced a Remix EP of 11t's "Because I Love You" releasing end of the year, as a loving memory of a great friend.
2016 (mid): FOGPAK and Epic Network Music[edit]
On 14 November 2016, he released a song titled "Call You" with FOGPAK label on the audio distribution platform Bandcamp.[13][14][15] On 29 December 2016, he also released the first remix version of 11t's "Because I Love You", remixed by Yasuha. on SoundCloud,[16] licensed by Epic Network Music. The track was dedicated and a tribute to the passing of 11t. Two months later, it was then released on Epic Network Music's YouTube Channel.[17] Ever since then, Shay was now a signed artist and part of FOGPAK and Epic Network Music, and continued to release music with the two labels.
2017: Final Memory and Retirement[edit]
On 28 February 2017, Shay released the second and final remix of 11t's "Because I Love You", remixed by NY~ON on SoundCloud,[18] owned and licensed by all 3 labels, Shaylo Records, FOGPAK, and Epic Network Music. The remix track was also an exclusive release on Epic Network Music's YouTube Channel[19] and exclusive release on FOGPAK's Bandcamp page.[20]
On the same day, Shay announced that he was going to retire for the remaining year of 2017, due to depression and the passing of 11t. "Because I Love You (NY~ON Remix)" was the last track that he ever released in 2017 on his SoundCloud page.[21]
2018: Shaylo Records Continues[edit]
Since Shay's retirement, the members in Shaylo Records continued to put out new music, and Shay continued to work behind the scenes and operate the record label. He also announced in the beginning of the year, he was going to make his return, with an upcoming debut album. His labels had given him a welcome back gift.[22]
