Sheelagh McLaren is a Scottish broadcast journalist, television presenter and producer. She is currently a Sports Reporter for STV News across Scotland.
Sheelagh's work entails reporting on a wide variety Scottish sports stories for all STV News programmes. She also acts as relief Sport presenter on STV News at Six in both the West and East regions.
McLaren graduated from the University of Dundee with a bachelor's degree in Life Sciences in 1998. After taking time out of further education, Sheelagh gained a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism in 2001 from the University of the West of Scotland.[1]
For 12 years, Sheelagh worked as a Sports reporter and presenter at Radio Clyde, starting at the company in 2002. During this time, she also ventured into television, co-presented the Friday night highlights show STV Sports Centre between 2010 and 2011 - featuring interviews, special reports, analysis and a preview of the weekend's football fixtures.
McLaren returned to STV full-time in 2014, as a Sports reporter for STV News, and as a stand-in Sports presenter on the West and East editions of STV News at Six.
