Shenzhen Sonoff Technologies Co., Ltd (stylized as Sonoff), is a Chinese manufacturer of Smart devices products based in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China. Sonoff is the primary manufacturing subsidiary for Smart Home Devices of ITEAD Intelligent Systems Co., Ltd. a Chinese tech company based in Shenzhen.
Sonoff brand name[edit]
The brand name Sonoff stay for "Smart On-Off": the name born with the first smart devices produced by the company "Sonoff Basic Switch". The device is built with the ESP8266, a low-cost Wi-Fi microchip that can easily turn on/off remotly a connected light or device.

Sonoff Smart Switches are a WiFi smart switches that allows users to remote control the power of lights/electrical-appliances with a Mobile App. Because all of this smart switches are a ESP8266 based device, this brand is very famous on the open-source community. There are Open Source project built using Arduino framework: for an alternative firmware, with repository for open source code and pre-compiled binaries.
