Philis Aloo (born 8 August 1998), better known by her stage name Shinobi Slime, is a Kenyan hip hop and German hip hop rapper, singer and songwriter.[1]
Early life
Shinobi Slime was born in Nairobi and spent part of her early teenage years in boarding school at Mumias Academy. With growing low employment rates in Kenya, her family was struggling to make ends meet and at the age of 13, the whole family relocated to Germany, as a way to help her cope with the sudden change in environment. She began writing and performing her own music in English and Swahili, and after mastering the language, she included German in her lyrics, drawing on her experiences growing up in Kenya and Germany to craft lyrics that were both authentic and relatable.
Career
Her versatile skills have seen her perform on stages across Europe and have quickly earned her a loyal following of fans, who are drawn to her infectious energy and fierce spirit. Standard magazine Kenya named her as one of the top female artists to look out for in the year 2024. She has worked with various Kenyan creatives like Kariwok Kid and Katapilla.
