Shivkumar Dahariya (born 18 December 1964) is an Indian politician from Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Personal Life
Dahariya was born on 18 December 1964 in the village Chhachhanpairi, Abhanpur, Raipur, Chhattisgarh. He is the son of Asharam Dahariya. He completed his B.A.M.S. (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) from Government Ayurved College, Raipur (Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University) in 1988–1989.[1]
Political career
Dahariya's political career began in the student union sphere. He has held various positions at the state level. In 1990, he was jailed for participating in an agitation against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Bhopal, an action directed by the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. He was nominated for the Rajya Sabha by the Congress party in 2000 but withdrew his nomination at the instruction of the party high command. He has been a minister in the Chhattisgarh government, overseeing Urban Administration and Development, and Labor.
