The Shogakukan Children's Publishing Culture Award was established in 1952 by Shogakukan[who?] in 1952 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of its founding. It became independent from the Shogakukan Literature Award and the Shogakukan Painting Award from the 1st, and has been progressively integrated and renamed since 1996 (45th).
