Shorya Mahanot (born 28 October 2006 in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh) is a self-taught Indian abstract artist[1] known as the Youngest Signature Style Abstract Artist whose paintings have been featured at international art fairs.[2][3]
Early life[edit]
Mahanot was born in Neemuch, Madhya Pradesh[4] to Aditya Singh Mahanot and Pushpa Mahanot and has two siblings.[4] He completed his early education from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Neemuch.[5]
Career[edit]
Shorya started his career at the age of four in 2011 with a solo exhibition at Chambers Terrace, Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai.[6] In 2012, he was first recognized by Indian cartoonist R. K. Laxman and was called to present his abstract paintings in a live demo at Laxman's Residence in Pune.[7][8][9] In March 2013, his art was exhibited in the 35th Annual Art Expo, New York, USA[10] where his works were included in a special curated exhibition at the Ward-Nasse Gallery in New York[11] and in 2017, he collaborated with Microsoft India's Future Decoded in Mumbai.[12] His paintings are also displayed at the Holtzman Gallery in New Jersey, USA.[13][14][15] He is the winner of POGO's Amazing Kid Award.[16]
