Showbie, developed by Showbie Inc.[1], is educational software[2] that can be accessed via a website,[3] or iOS app.[4] It enables communication between teachers and students. It is designed in the style of a messaging app, with two-way communcation with teachers as well as a 'class discussion', where all members in a class can participate. Students can join classes or groups by entering a pin code. Teachers can set due dates for assignments, which appear to students. It is avaliable in 13 languages.[5]
Showbie has become more popular during the coronavirus pandemic, when much of student's learning moved online. In one case in Lancaster, it allowed 3 school years to continue learning after a positive test.[6]
