Shraddhanjali is a 1993 Bengali drama romance film directed by Srikant Guha Thakurata. The film was released on 16 April 1993 at the Bengal box-office and it was one of the highest-grossing Bengali films of all time. The film was the first Bengali movie to gross 1 crore in its 75-day run, especially in Kolkata and rural areas. The film stars Prosenjit Chatterjee,Satabdi Roy, Kali Banerjee, Anup Kumar, Ananda Mukherjee, Chandranath Chowdhury, Meena Chakraborty, Puja Chatterjee and Debashree Roy in a special appearance and shares first time screen with Satabdi Roy.
Plot[edit]
Shraddhanjali is a family drama about a love triangle between two girls and a boy they both love. The storyline is based on sacrifice, the great love and care that parents feel for their children and for the tough decisions we are forced to make for our loved ones. It aims to show how generous and loving the human nature can be and is not always selfish or cruel. It also aims to show how man can go to great lengths to sacrifice all for love and happiness for others.
