Shri Kalyan Government College (Hindi: श्री कल्याण राजकीय महाविद्यालय) is a college in the city Sikar of the Indian state Rajasthan. Colloquially, It is known as S. K. College. The college is one of the major colleges of Shekhawati region with strength of about 8500 students and offers under graduate and post graduate courses.[2]
History[edit]
The very establishment of the Institution is to cater the needs of Shekhawati and to open avenue of knowledge. This institution primarily was established in 1920, as high school with the motive of awareness towards Indian freedom struggle and spread of literacy in the backward sandy region where most people belonged to backward classes by the last Ruler of Sikar Thikana Shri Kalyan. S. K. College is a co-educational, government funded post-graduate college, affiliated to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Shekhawati University, Sikar and recognized under 2(f) and 12 B by the U.G.C. It has been accredited ‘A’ by NAAC.
The present college came into existence in 1954 and offers a range of 28 programmes including Sciences, Commerce and Social Sciences & Humanities at the undergraduate level. The students can choose from an extensive array of 11 subjects at the postgraduate level and the college has remarkable facilities for the perusal of Ph.D. in 10 subjects.

General Information[edit]
The College Library is the hub of learning with a rich collection of about 95000 books, standard reference sources. The library is going to subscribe to many new periodicals/journals very soon.[when?] The library Reading Rooms can accommodate around 60 students. The Library is open on all working days from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. The timings of the library during the examinations and the vacations are displayed/ informed time to time. It remains closed on Sundays and holidays. Encyclopedias, dictionaries, and other rare kinds of work which are in constant demand, costly books and other books which may from time to time be considered necessary for ready reference are placed in this section. Reference books may be referred to only within the premises of the library.
