Shuncheng Street Mosque (Chinese: 顺城街清真寺, also known as the Shunchengjie Mosque) is a historic mosque located on Shuncheng Street (Dunren Xiang), in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China. It is one of the notable mosques in Kunming and houses the Islamic Association of Yunnan Province.[1]

History

The mosque was first built in the first year of the Hongxi era (1425) during the Ming dynasty. Over time, it was rebuilt and expanded multiple times during the Qing dynasty to meet the needs of the local Muslim community.[1]

Architecture and Layout

The mosque complex covers an area of about 10,000 square meters.[1] It includes a main prayer hall, ablution (wudu) facilities, offices, wing rooms, rest areas, a dining hall, and other supporting structures.[2]

Capacity and Use

The mosque can accommodate about 200 worshippers at a time.[1] It also serves as a religious and administrative hub, as the Islamic Association of Yunnan Province is headquartered within the complex.[1]
