Shweta (meme)

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Shweta is related to the name of a girl who accidentally leaked her private conversation via a Microsoft Teams call, which eventually became a viral Internet meme in India in February 2021.[1] The girl, named Shweta, reportedly forgot to mute her microphone and unintentionally revealed private details of her friend, who is a Pandit, and his ex-girlfriend, while she was in her online class session.[2] Her fellow classmates, who were also present during the online class, urged Shweta to immediately mute her mic, but their efforts were in vain. Shweta memes started appearing, intending to troll her.[3]

The relevant Microsoft Teams call involving Shweta was leaked on several social media platforms including YouTube and Instagram.[4] It also triggered a meme fest on Twitter, where memes flooded under the hashtag #ShwetaYourMicIsOn, and it also overshadowed hashtags such as #PetrolPriceHike and #IPLAuction on Twitter.[5]

Popular brand names such as Netflix India and Pizza Hut also started to make memes regarding the Shweta Zoom call leak. The brands hilariously trolled everyone to mute their microphones for promotional purposes.[6] Popular music composer Mayur Jumani converted the meme into a catchy melody song.[7]
