Sibley Boulevard, also known as 147th Street, is a major east-west street on Chicago's south and southeast suburbs. It starts in Oak Forest, Illinois and ends in Hammond, Indiana. It is a part of Illinois Route 83 for most of its route.

Route description

147th Street starts at Oak Park Avenue in Oak Forest, where it goes through a few forest preserves before intersecting Illinois Route 50 and Illinois Route 83, the latter merging onto the route. The road goes through Midlothian before reaching Posen, where it meets two major highways; Interstate 294 and Interstate 57.

147th Street is not known locally as Sibley Boulevard until an intersection with Robey Avenue at the Dixmoor-Harvey line. Crossing into Harvey, the road meets Illinois Route 1 before heading into Dolton and meeting Interstate 94. Now in Calumet City, Illinois, Illinois Route 83 merges onto Torrence Avenue, but Sibley Boulevard continues into Indiana as Sibley Street.ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

After an intersection with U.S. Route 41, the road ends at Columbia Avenue in Hammond.

Between the two states, the total route's length is 15.0 mi (24.1 km)[1] long.
