Siege of Samarkand is one of Timur’s clashes with the Chagatays. Ilyas Hodja came and besieged Samarkand but failed.
Background
Before the Siege of Samarkand, he also defeated Timur and Hussein at the Battle of Tashkent. Later he attacked Transoxiana.
Battle
In 1365, Ilyas Khoja besieged Samarkand and with it they came into conflict with Timur, and Ilyas Hodja failed.[2]
