Sigma University (સિગ્મા યુનિવર્સિટી) is a private university located in Vadodara, Gujarat, India. Established originally as Sigma Group of Institutes in 2002, it was granted university status under the Gujarat Private Universities (Amendment) Act in April 2023.[1]
History
Sigma Group of Institutes began in 2002 with diploma and degree programs in engineering, pharmacy, and management. In April 2023, the Government of Gujarat upgraded the institution to university status under the Gujarat Private Universities Act.[2]
Campus
The university campus covers approximately 26.7 lakh square feet (around 61 acres). It includes over 150 classrooms and more than 1,500 computers. Facilities comprise a central library, auditoriums, seminar halls, hostels, cafeterias, a women’s development cell, incubation and startup centre, international students’ cell, sports academy, wellness facilities, and grounds for cricket and football.[3]

In 2012, Sigma Group tied up with the University of Information Technology and Management, Poland for academic exchanges.[7]
Rankings
Sigma University was awarded:
- Best University of Gujarat for Industry Interface (2023) by the Centre for Education Growth and Research (CEGR).
- Best Engineering College in West India for Industry Interface (2022) by CEGR.[8]
Placements
The placement cell at Sigma University reports more than 10,000 students placed, with over 250 recruiters visiting the campus. Notable recruiters include Amazon, Infosys, Reliance, Panasonic, Skoda, and Apollo Hospitals. Highest packages have been reported at up to ₹20 lakh per annum, with average placement rates exceeding 80%.[9]
Research and Scholarships
Sigma has published over 100 research papers and awarded scholarships worth more than ₹5 crore to students.[10]
