Sikandar vs Porus is a historical drama television series based on the Battle of the Hydaspes, visualizing the lives of Indian warrior and ruler Porus, King of the Pauravas and Alexander The Great, King of the Macedonian Empire. It premiered on 28 October 2019 on Dangal TV.[2][3] It is the retitled version of SET's Porus (TV series). The show is produced by One Life Studios and distributed by Swastik Productions. The show airs from Monday to Friday at 10 p.m.

Plot[edit]

The drama focuses on the story of Porus and Alexander. They show that they were destined to meet. Porus grows up as a tribal, but finally realises what he actually is - The true successor of the throne of Paurava (Punjab). Porus exposed Darius III in front of everyone, who had actually come to take control of Punjab to gain huge profits by trade. On the other hand, the serial shows how Alexander yearned to become one of the greatest conquerors of the world.

Porus married his love interest Lachi, and at the same time, got to know about Alexander's entry into India. His rival, Ambhiraj, king of Takshashila, befriends Alexander to take revenge from Porus and his family.

However, Porus does not fear of fighting Alexander, and hence, starts the epic Battle of the Hydaspes, wherein Porus fights very bravely but loses almost his entire family in the battle. After Porus's loss, Alexander, impressed by his valour and courage, befriends Porus and leaves India, leaving Seleucus and Ambhikumar, son of Ambhiraj, enraged.

Alexander dies on his way back to Greece, whereas the heir of Porus, Malayketu is born. However, Seleucus and Ambhikumar assassinate Porus and Lachi, but Porus sends his son safe into the Jhelum river before dying.

Now, it is upon Chanakya (who was with Porus) to fulfill Porus's dream of a free and united India.
