Simmeringer Had
The Simmeringer Had (usually also called Had) is the home of the 1. Simmeringer SC Austrian football club in Vienna. The name derives from the Simmeringer Haide, where the Had was originally located in the geographical sense. However, the football field of the 1st Simmering sports club was relocated more often, so that the name Had only has something to do with the location of the football field.
History
On the original Had in the Rinnböckstraße was played only in the early years, the second Had in the livery street had a capacity of about 50,000 spectators and was thus to complete 1920 the largest stadium in Austria. At this time, the Had also for larger games such as the Austrian Cup Cup final games in 1920 and 1924, used for international matches or even for championship games of other clubs such as SC Hakoah Vienna. In addition to the later built, but twice as large Hohe Warte Had counted the largest stadiums in Austria, but both were replaced in 1931 by the Praterstadion.
In 1920 26 September friendly match between Austria and Germany was played in this stadium which ended 3:2 win of Austria in front of 30.000 spectators. [1]. Austria played 7 of total international matches as host in this stadium during 1920-1926 and never lost (W 5, D 2). [2]
After the Second World War, the Simmeringer Had moved into the vicinity of the St. Marx cemetery (the "Wanko-Gstättn"), and finally in the early 1970s arrive at the current location of the present at the Simmeringer Hauptstraße 213, 1110 Vienna.
The artificial turf pitch built in the 1990s was completely refurbished in spring 2010 and now meets UEFA's eligibility criteria.
