Simon Cosmas Michael known professionally as Simon Rieber is a Tanzanian digital artist, animator and author. He is known for his illustration and digital painting. Born and raised in Dar es Salaam, he became an Internet celebrity by achieving popularity on Instagram. He was named among the young artists who use their social media to bring changes in society.
He is a founder and chief executive officer of SR Media Services Tanzania, a PR agency company helping budding artists, entrepreneurs and creators to promote their works online, providing press release services and expertise in knowledge panels in all search engines.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
Early life and education
Born on May 25, 1994, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, he spent his early life in Dar es Salaam and later took his bachelor's degree in Computer Science at the University of Dar es Salaam.[2]
Career
After graduating from Computer Science in 2011, Simon was involved in a small business and later decided to study painting online. He began publishing his original works online in 2018,[2][9] and he gained great popularity through social media, inspiring other artists. He also focuses more on entrepreneurship, inspiring people to become self-reliant and to lift themselves out of poverty. He has been one of the young people who have been able to use social media to bring about change and uplift others. Simon is also an investor in Tanzanian music.[8]
