Simon Ryan (born 19 May 1974) is an Australian businessman, Senior Executive and majority owner at RyanCap[1]. He was the chief executive officer of Dentsu Aegis Network.[2][3]
Career[edit]
Simon Ryan started his career in advertising in the 1990s at Total Media Young & Rubicam. Ryan then became a Director at Zenith Media with a successful business sale to WPP. WPP sold Zenith for £75m in 2003.[4] In 2010 he moved to Aegis Media heading up Australia largest media buying company aligning its purchase of Mitchell & Partners in 2011 for $363m.[5]
From 2010 Simon Ryan held several senior positions within Aegis Group inc Group CEO from 2016-2019[6] where the business grew exponentially to over 1,700 staff and $2.1billion in turnover.[7] Simon Ryan stepped down from the position of Chief Executive at the end of 2018[8] after 9 years covering many mergers and acquisitions.
After leaving Ryan left to start RyanCap which is currently Australia’s fastest-growing Australian Digital Communications holding groups owning successful businesses such as 'Ryvalmedia'[Mumbrella 1], data and tech business 'Foxcatcher'[9], and consulting group 'Tightrope'[Mumbrella 2] expanding rapidly throughout Australia in Melbourne and Brisbane.[Mumbrella 3][Mumbrella 4]

Philanthropy[edit]
Simon Ryan has contributed to a number of foundations and private interests to enhance the cultural and social agenda. Ryan is a former board member of the Melbourne Festival[13] to help drive Melbourne's cultural agenda and Brainwave[14]to assist disadvantaged children in need.
