Simpack is a commercial multibody simulation (MBS) software used for simulating non-linear motion of large and complex multibody systems which may include a combination of rigid and flexible bodies.[1][2]

Dassault Systèmes acquired Simpack on July 10, 2014.[3]

Simpack is available as a standalone product and also through the Power'By approach in 3DEXPERIENCE.[4]

    History[edit]

Simpack was developed in late 1980s at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in collaboration with MAN.[2] The development, at the time, stemmed from the lack of commercial MBS software that could simulate flexible bodies.

In 1993, the German company INTEC GmbH was founded to continue the development of Simpack and commercialise it.[2]

In September 2009, INTEC GmbH was incorporated into the new company SIMPACK AG as its legal successor.

In 2014, Dassault Systèmes acquired SIMPACK AG and started to integrate Simpack in the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.[3]
