Simpson's Rest

Simpson's Rest is a butte and rock formation which is a landmark overlooking Trinidad, Colorado.[1] It is the burial place of explorer and trader George S. Simpson, and is surmounted by a U.S. flag and "TRINIDAD" in large white letters.[2] It is a tourist attraction, and can be reached by a 10 minute drive from downtown Trinidad.

In 2017, an 11-year-old girl died after falling 20 feet from the overlook.[3]
