Parma, Colorado

Parma is an unincorporated community in Alamosa and Rio Grande counties, in the U.S. state of Colorado.[1] US Route 160 passes to the south and the Monte Vista Municipal Airport lies to the southwest across Route 160 and the railroad line.[1] The Rio Grande River flows past approximately two miles to the north of the community.[1]

History[edit]

A post office called Parma was established on the Rio Grande County side in 1886, where it remained in operation until 1910.[2] The community takes its name from Parma, Idaho.[3]
