Sina Afra (born 21 October 1968) is a Turkish-German internet entrepreneur, angel investor and author.[2][3][4] He is founder of Evtiko an online real estate company and also founder of Markafoni, an online fashion site operating in Turkey and other countries.[5] He is also founder of Undo-labs.[6][7] Afra was selected to Top 100 most influential tech people Europe (2014 and 2015) and one of Top 100 most influential tech people in the World by Wired Magazine (2016).[8]
Early life and education[edit]
Afra was born in Ankara, Turkey, to Haluk and Sencan Afra.[9] His father was a Turkish diplomat, and his mother is an art historian. Due to his father's career, Afra grew up in the Netherlands and Germany. He graduated from the University of Münster in 1992 as "Diplom Kaufmann." During his studies, he spent part of his time in St. Gallen, Switzerland. Afterwards, he joined Harvard Business School for higher degree.[5][non-primary source needed]
Career[edit]
After completing his studies, Afra worked as a Management Consultant at KPMG from 1993–2005. He started as a Junior Consultant and was promoted to Principal in 2002.
In 2006, Afra joined eBay in Berlin as the Director of Corporate Development. He was responsible for M&A and Strategy. After eBay acquired GittiGidiyor in May 2007, he moved to Istanbul and joined GittiGidiyor’s Board while being eBay's representative in Turkey.[10]
