Sina Alam (Persian: سینا علم‎, born 18 December 1989, in Tehran, Iran) is a musician, composer, and a player of the kamancheh, ghichak, and violin, the lattermost of which he began his career in music. As a teenager, he attended high school at a music conservatory playing the kamancheh as his main instrument. He continued his career under the supervision of various professors.

Career[edit]

Alam's masters were Mostafa Kamal Pourtorab, Mohsen Nafar, Hadi Arazm, Hadi Montazeri, Mohammad Reza Azadehfar, Vartan Sahakian, and Esmaeel Gerami. He had completed his bachelor's degree in music at the University of Tehran. He is the main member of the Shooh ensemble under the direction of Hooman Khalatbari. He has been active in the ensembles of Shahram Nazeri[1][2][3][4] and Ali Zand Vakili.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]

While studying at university, he participated in various concerts as a fiddle player.[13][14][15][16] He collaborated with the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) as a musician and composer,[17] and taught at a music conservatory. Alam received a music teaching license from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance in 2008. He is currently working for the Ali Zand Vakili Group.[18][19][20][21] In 2011, as a musician and composer, he participated in the instrumental album Cut Pieces. He produced other singles in which he was both the musician and composer.

Other ventures[edit]

Alam has written a book titled Kamanche navazi novin, which is split into two parts.[24][25][26][27][28]

On 6 January 2016, Sina Alam collaborated with Ali Zand Vakili in a concert in Isfahan.[29] He performed tracks from his new album Yadi Be Range Emrouz with his band on 1 January.
