SiteOne Landscape Supply, also known as SiteOne, is a wholesale distributor of landscape supplies in the United States and Canada. The company's customers are primarily landscape professionals who specialize in the design, installation and maintenance of residential and commercial landscapes. The company was previously a part of Deere & Company.[2]

Products and Services[edit]

SiteOne sells a variety of landscape supply products including irrigation supplies; outdoor lighting products; fertilizer and seed; control products such as herbicides and pesticides; landscape tools and equipment; live nursery goods including trees, flowers, plants, shrubs and sod; ice melt products; and outdoor living and hardscape products. The company maintains approximately 100,000 products in its catalog.

SiteOne also sells private label agronomic products under the LESCO name. The LESCO product line includes fertilizer, seed, sprayers, spreaders, and other landscape supplies and equipment. The company maintains a LESCO Website at https://www.lesco.com. [3] The company also sells private label outdoor lighting products under the ProTrade(r) Lighting name including: fixtures in multiple finishes, LED lamps, and transformers. SiteOne owns and operates 511 branches in the United States and Canada and operates three distribution centers to support its branch operations. The three distribution centers are located in Fairburn, Georgia; Colton, California; and Carlisle, Pennsylvania. The company also operates an e-commerce Web site, https://www.siteone.com. The company's headquarters are located in Atlanta, Georgia and maintains a second corporate office in Troy, Michigan.[5]

The company was established in 2001 after Deere & Company acquired McGinnis Farms and Century Rain Aid and formally entered the landscape supply distribution space. When owned by Deere & Company, the company operated under the name John Deere Landscapes.

  • In 2005, Deere acquired United Green Mark.[6]
  • In 2007, Deere acquired LESCO Inc.[7] Both United Green Mark and LESCO, Inc. were merged into John Deere Landscapes.[8]
  • In December 2013, a venture capital firm, Clayton, Dubilier & Rice purchased a 60% interest in John Deere Landscapes from Deere.[9]
  • In 2014, the company purchased Eljay Irrigation [10], Diamond Head Sprinkler Supply [11], Stockyard Horticultural Supply[12], and Boston Irrigation Supply Company (BISCO).
  • In 2015, the company was rebranded as SiteOne Landscape Supply. [13]. The company also purchased AMC Industries[14], Green Resources, Tieco, Inc. [15], and Shemin Nursery.
  • On May 17, 2016, SiteOne completed an initial public offering (“IPO”) of stock on the New York Stock Exchange.[16]. Also in 2016, the company acquired Hydro-Scape Products[17], Blue Max Materials[18], Bissett Nursery & Bissett Equipment Companies[19], and Glen Allen Nursery.[20]
