Plantscape, Inc. is an interior landscaping firm based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The company was established in 1974 and is a producer of artificial trees and silk plants for commercial real estate, hospitality, health care, and other industries. They provide manufacturing, design and installation services and have completed projects in the United States and internationally.[1][2]

History[edit]

Plantscape, Inc. started out as an interior landscaping company offering installation and maintenance services for live plants and trees in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. After several live tree and plant installations failed in indoor environments due to bad lighting and other poor conditions, they started manufacturing artificial plants and trees by sourcing materials from Asia. The artificial plant and tree business now accounts for over half of the company revenue.[3]

Products[edit]

Plantscape, Inc. products include artificial tree, plant, flower and foliage species, and plant containers. The artificial materials are typically fire retardant if they are used indoors,[4] or U/V protected if used outdoors. They have manufactured and designed the U/V protected outdoor artificial Boxwood for the Oasis Beach Club at Mandarin Oriental and for Club 50 at Icon Brickell.

Services[edit]

Plantscape, Inc. has design, landscape architect, manufacturing and installation services.[5] Plantscape, Inc. has manufactured tropical theme palm trees for Southdale Center and manufactured indoor and outdoor trees for the prehistoric themed restaurant, T-Rex.[6] Their landscape designers, after evaluating project plans, will often recommend custom built products. The manufacturing unit produces the product materials based on project specifications, and the installation unit assembles and installs the materials on the project site. The interior landscaping work of Plantscape, Inc. at Wells Fargo Place has been featured in Interiorscape Magazine.[7]
