Skip Dmv (born in 11 May 1990 on Washington DC, United States) is an American Singer, Rapper, Writer. The modern era of music has given way to enigmas and artists of all shapes and forms who break the norm of what has come to expect as far as what an artist truly is. Skip DMV is one artist that epitomizes the essence of the modern era. A multi-talented vocalist and Rapper born and raised in Washington DC. Skip DMV is making music that is thoughtful, conscious, and driven by a desire to motivate, inspire, comfort, and spread love and joy to all those that hear it.[1][2][3]

Born Sharrod Mariner, He initially Started doing music at the age of 7 with my older brother later forming a group at the age of 13 called DaFam. It was during this period that Skip DMV’s creativity and undeniable talent began to shine through as DaFam which consisted of his 3 brothers won various local awards in the DMV area. This attracted attention from various labels who had interest in signing the group. He eventually developed a style of songwriting that is transparent, daring and full of hope and reflective of the experiences and culture that Skip DMV represents, turning his pain into purpose and lessons into studio sessions. And this led to writing music for a few major artist and became the platform that Skip needed to kick start his career.[4][5][6]
Skip DMV has had a vast array of musical influences however he accredits the pivotal influence in his music to greats such as Lil Wayne, Da baby, Lil Baby, Jay Z. This all culminates in Skip DMV producing a musical experience that is enjoyable, easy-going, and fun but still seeks to provoke thought and Skip DMV uses his music as a vehicle to express his perspectives and tell stories. Ever Since his Childhood Skip DMV always wanted to use music to start a dialogue that would cut across all demographics to express his ideas in the most impactful way.
Skip DMV also started a clothing brand called “Imagez” that took off in the Norfolk VA area and has been worn by various noteworthy local celebrities. The central idea that Skip conveys in the clothing is that “Your Imagez is everything”. Skip’s overarching desire is that he wants people to be inspired and know that anything is possible long as you put their mind to it.[7]
Skip DMV has a catalog with artists such as Young Crazy, Scrap, Lil Dream, KT, and several mixtapes. Skip will also be releasing music to showcase his lyricism in a uniquely constructed piece of musical artistry. His music will exhibit not only his versatility and vocal prowess but will surely cement his style as a witty, and confident rapper as well as pave the way for the varied expressions of his musical ideas and artistic craft as well as his authentic lyricism and diversity. This is the music that will push the boundaries of our perception as well as inspire and drive us to introspective conversations. It’s the music that may not change the world but can change the people in the world.[8]
