Skippers' meeting
From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki
The Skippers' Meeting is held before a sailboat regatta, often on the morning of the first day of racing. It gives the Race Committee a chance to communicate last-minute info, provides a good place to hand out Sailing Instructions, and gives the skippers a chance to ask questions about the way the regatta will be run.
Common topics for discussion include:
- potential hazards on the course
- any other aspects of the course which weren't adequately covered in the Sailing Instructions
- for a race series, potential for running extra races, if conditions permit
- clarification of rules/regulations
